| Ans : Subsoil is a layer of soil found beneath the topsoil and above the parent material or bedrock in a soil profile. At this level, the amount of fertilizer is less, while the amount of minerals is more. The water absorbed from the first layer brings the minerals to this layer. This layer is usually compact and hardened.
