Here are the new examples for the phrasal verbs: Call back - return a phone call I missed your call earlier, let me call you back when I have a free moment. Call off - cancel The company had to call off the annual picnic due to the bad weather forecast. Call on/upon - formally invite or request The principal called upon the student council to help organize the school dance. Calm down - become more relaxed, less angry or upset After the argument, it took a while for the two friends to calm down and discuss the issue calmly. Carry on - continue Even with a broken arm, the dedicated volunteer carried on with their community service work. Carry out - 1. do something as specified (a plan, an order, a threat) 2. perform or conduct (test, experiment) The soldiers carried out the orders to secure the area. Researchers will carry out further tests on the new medication. Carry over - postpone until later Since I wasn't able to use all of my vacation days this year, I asked if I could carry them over to next year. Check in - register at a hotel or airport Be sure to check in at the hotel front desk as soon as you arrive.
